The current Pull or Fetch wizard give the impression that only tags or branches can be fetched, although they are actually much more flexible and can fetch (almost) any kind of refs. Many users are not aware of how they can take advantage of some types of refs with there favorite repositories (eg Gerrit, GitHub...), so the wizard should educate users about what they can try and how, by adding some examples:

  Ex: branchName, tagName, 012345678 (commit sha-1), refs/changes/12/345/6 (Gerrit), refs/pull/123/head (GitHub)...

I'm reopening as I'd like to roll out a similar change for the PullBranchDialog when bug 574067 is fixed (and pulling refs/pull/123/head works)
