If I open a local terminal and restart Eclipse my path is lost. That limits the usage of the terminal view for me. Would be nice if it could persist its path and try to restore it, at least for local terminals.
AFAIK Terminal moved to CDT. Jonah, please move to the correct component.
Sorry I didn't catch this earlier when I moved bugs to CDT. The Summary had terminal in it, but the component was unexpected. I will look at doing another query to see if I can find more. In the meantime this bug is already covered by a later bug, but one with a little more background. So I am marking this as a dup of Bug 460495 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 460495 ***
PS Lars, you did move it to the correct product/component -> CDT/terminal :-)
Reopening because I can solve this one independently of Bug 460495 - at least on Linux. On Windows and macOS we don't have the way of getting the *current* working directory, so instead my patch will restore to the initial working directory. See Bug 573645
reopening.
(In reply to Jonah Graham from comment #4) > [..] so instead my patch will restore to the initial working > directory [...] This matches the thinking earlier by previous devs: (In reply to Martin Oberhuber from Bug 460495 comment #4) > As a first step, I'm fine if only the "startup directory" of any terminal is > restored on restart.
